A few weeks ago (right after I got back from Europe), I got a call from a lobbyist who needed some help on a national campaign in Nevada. A sitting assemblyman is running for United States Senate against Harry Reid and needs help on the campaign. So, after consulting with a few people I trust in Utah politics, I made the decision to take the job. A week later, I was in Las Vegas. I knew I would have to be here for 30 days at least, in order to get my candidate out of the Republican Primary Election on June 8th.

Well, so far, this experience has been incredible. I am pretty sure that I was made to campaign. I get to go around and talk to people about my candidate and utilize my web 2.0 skills. Last weekend we took a road trip around Nevada and visited many small towns, such as Yerington and Ely. Awesome.

So there it is. I am living in Las Vegas for a month (actually, only about 2 more weeks) and having the time of my life. This opportunity came at a great time and I feel very blessed.

As many of you know, I drink a lot of water. I mean A LOT. I’m sure its more than the daily necessity. But for some reason, when I am at work at my desk (sipping at a glass of water all day), I wait until the absolute LAST MINUTE to go to the restroom. So I let myself get to a point where I may not make it down the hall. And my stomach hurts a little. Why do I do this? I don’t know.

But I gotta run to the restroom quickly. (Will be back with Europe blog as promised…)

Captures our friendship perfectly.

• I have had a rough few weeks. Do you ever feel like you just have too much on your plate? Well, that’s how I felt a few weeks ago. But don’t worry, a call to my family and a few tears later and I felt better.
• I have a new church calling. Its a biggie. I bet you could guess what it is.
• I traveled to NYC last week with Lydia (Pictures are forthcoming). We went to a taping of the Jimmy Fallon show. It only enhanced my love of Jimmy Fallon. He is hilarious! Check out the episode on St. Patrick’s Day and you can see Lydia and I in the right hand side of the screen. Yeah, we’re big stars.
• I am headed to Europe next month. Greece and Spain to be exact. I am getting a little nervous to go. I have never been out of the country (unless you count the Bahamas. Which I don’t). Everyone who hears about my impending trip feels the need to scare me to death about traveling abroad. I am hoping to not be robbed, or hurt, or sick, or taken by rogue extremists who want to sell me to slavery. Crossing my fingers.
• Its time for a change in my life. Not personally, professionally. I just don’t know what it is yet. Cross your fingers.
• I have the greatest friends. And family.
• My new favorite thing is Skype. It is so fun to Skype with my family in California. If any of you like to Skype, hit me up!
• My immune system is on vacation. For the last 3 weeks of the session, I had the WORST smokers cough. I finally broke down and went to the doctor. Knowing the nature of my job, the doctor gave me some antibiotics and I was on my way. Finally I started to feel better the weekend after the session ended. I headed to NYC and the last day in NYC, I woke up terribly congested. That was Friday. It is now Tuesday. I am still sick. Yikes!
